I try to use recycled wires in my jewellery as much as possible, however not all gauges of wire can be found in electrical cables which means I have to buy these ready to use. Its very hard work stripping the casing off cables to expose the bare wire and my hands often ache for a while after stripping long lengths. However, I do believe the way forwards is ethical and green living and art.
I have found some artists that make beautiful work using recycled and waste materials. This time its focusing on the humble toilet roll!
Japanese artist Yuken Teruya beautiful wall art.
Erika has used some to make a beautiful floral organic shaped wall piece. Check out her blog Erikaceous
Talented artist Anastassia Elias makes these adorable scenes that are perfectly lit by the tunnel of light of the toilet roll.
