So far I have always work with all copper or all silver. I am trying out a mixed metal look this week. It’s proving a bit tricky as I can age one, but not the other, so it means separating the two components until you are ready to assemble.
At first I thought they looked a little odd, only because it felt wrong. I suppose like the purists don’t like mixing their media when painting or drawing. I do think a sterling silver wire with the copper would be much better, but it’s just too costly, so I’ve stuck to the plated wires.
I got these large round Tibetan beads from Ebay and they do have a really lovely quality to them. I’ve put in another order to get stocked up. Finding particular beads on the internet is like finding needles in haystacks!
